Sponsor a School Term

Ugandan girl in school.
As of 2013, Beyond Uganda is fully committed to sending 2 young women to school through college if they choose to go that far. Jenifer was the first girl met in Uganda that truly started the spark of what is now the ministry of Beyond Uganda. She had never been to school before so is starting out at the lowest level, especially for her age, and probably has 5-6 years left before she will graduate what we know as high school.
Faith has been to school and was doing quite well but became pregnant and dropped out. She then had complications and Beyond Uganda stepped in to help fund an emergency operation needed to save her life and the life of the twins she carried. Praise God, Faith and her twins, Joseph and Jeremiah, made it through delivery fine but now the money spent on school fees have gone to pay for the provision of the twins.
In Uganda, school is not a public or free service. It is costly and for most just not an option. To attend, you must have a pair of shoes, uniform, your school supplies, food while you are at school, boarding fees and tuition fees for instruction. All of that is divided into 3 terms per year. February thru April is the first term, May thru July is the second term and August thru October is the third year. Their summer break is November thru January. Each term will cost $94 dollars. So for less than one hundred dollars, you can fully fund a young womans education that will be an investment in her that will last a lifetime.
Why do we target girls for school funding? Girls in Uganda have one of the highest drop out rates of anywhere in the world. This is due to early marriages, pregnancy and family needs but also when a girl drops out during a primary (high school) term they are usually not allowed back where a boy that drops out is allowed back. Girls that are enrolled in school have a staggering drop out rate of 72% by the time they reach High School. Once a girl is dropped out with no options for survival, they often become victims of exploitation and abuse. Beyond Uganda is working to reverse those numbers one girl at time. Not only do we provide the much needed funds, through generous supporters like you, but each girl is required to meet with a mentor assigned to them and to receive educational counseling in sex, biblical marriage, their own self worth and encouraged to be educated and trained to be self supportive.
Will you consider supporting one of these girls for a term or more and ensure they receive the education and training to be successful and break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
