Suubi translates to “Hope,” and that’s exactly what the day offers as we open our site to any child in the community for a day to enjoy complimentary breakfast and lunch while having a safe space to play games and be children. During the play, children hear God’s word through discipleship classes and provide clean clothes for those who need them.

Suubi Saturdays can be instrumental to children as it allows for a place to be a child, confide in mentors, eat meat often reserved for Christmas, learn of God’s love, and feel a sense of dignity. Suubi Saturdays are vital not only to children’s physical and mental well-being but also to their spiritual well-being. It is our desire to offer Suubi Saturdays weekly across all four of our project sites. To do so would require us to expand our general budget as we continue our commitments to all current projects.
