EMPOWERING WOMEN

ALLOWING LOVE TO EMPOWER AND TRAIN WOMEN TO BE SELF-SUSTAINABLE

THE NEED

The Loan Women Program was born out of seeing the need of the many women that were widowed, living with HIV, or simply living in poverty.  We do not want to merely fix immediate needs and perpetuate the dependency on others that keep these women locked in poverty.  We want to partner with the local women to empower them and create opportunities for them to help themselves out of poverty.

MICRO-LOAN PROGRAM

____________________

The micro-loan program is a program that teaches women life skills that equip them to be self-sufficient for their families.
An interest-free loan of $50 is given to a qualifying woman who is then placed into a community of fellow loan women, where they are equipped with business skills and practices. Once they launch their business, they are given six months to repay their loan. After repayment, they are able to choose another woman in the community to receive a loan and go through the program.

RUTH PROGRAM

____________________

Our RUTH program initially started as our “loan program” but has slowly evolved over its program that adopted the name RUTH. RUTH stands for Redeem Uplift Thrive and Hope; everything the program aims to provide. The program exists to train women in the business of crafting and creating for self-sustainability. Through purchasing individual items or wholesale, your partnership creates economic, educational, and eternal change for women in Uganda.

GRACE SAVINGS PROGRAM

____________________

After women complete the loan program, they are immersed in our Grace Savings program, which equips individuals with money skills and provides a safe space to store their business profits.

Participants meet weekly with fellow community members for money management classes where they can also bring savings to secure lock boxes. Across these meetings, members compile portions of their earnings into a general fund where they choose a member to help invest in a more significant purchase that generally would not be affordable.
