Flavia is the 5th born of 6 children to single mother Aboth Specioza. Her father left home to “look for work” in 2008 and has never returned or been seen since. The older son dropped out of school due to lack of funds to finance them all and her mother struggles to pay the fees for all of them in school. Flavia is completing her primary Examinations this year and it has been because of her desire to pursue her dream as a nurse which makes her work very hard. The mother of Flavia says she had failed to provide for the home needs of her children as well as tuition until when she got opportunity to serve with BU that she is able to pay for them in government aided school. As Flavia is now in the Not Forgotten program, having a sponsor to help support and encourage her will elevate the burden on her mother to be able to put her other kids in school.
This is not just an investment in Flavia but an investment in an entire family. Please consider partnering with Beyond Uganda in her future.
